With dealerships located in VW, VA, PA, and MD, Timbrook is a family-owned and operated dealership group offering a large selection of new car brands (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, KIA, Nissan, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Ford, Honda). We also have 2 Honda Powerhouse stores featuring ATV’s, Motorcycles, and Side-by-Sides, and the largest stand-alone Collision Center in the Tri-State Region. In a time when many of our competitors have been sold to national companies – we’re very proud to continue our tradition of being a locally owned and operated organization that proudly employs members of the communities that surround us.
Timbrook Automotive Inc. was started by Fred E. Timbrook when he began to sell cars in June 1970 in Cumberland, MD at the Spoerl’s Pontiac Cadillac and eventually purchased the dealership on October 20, 1990. Fred J. Timbrook began working full time for his father in May 1992 and has been the company President/CEO since May 2001. Since then, we have grown from 1 location to 13.
Our History
We added the Nissan franchise which was acquired from Gateway Motors in Cumberland, MD.
December, 1992We acquired the GMC franchise from Collins Old’s GMC in Cumberland, MD and combined it with Pontiac and Cadillac while simultaneously moving the Nissan franchise to the former GMC building.
January, 2004We were awarded the KIA franchise in Cumberland, MD.
April, 2007We purchased two dealerships, one Ford and one Chevrolet, in Keyser WV from Markwood Automotive.
August, 2007We acquired the Buick franchise from Shaffer Chevrolet Buick and added it to the Pontiac and Cadillac GMC dealership.
January, 2008We lost the Pontiac and Cadillac franchises in Cumberland, MD due to the General Motors Bankruptcy.
September, 2009Collision was moved from the Buick/GMC store to its current facility.
October, 2009We opened a Honda Powersports dealership in Cumberland, MD which sells, Motorcycles, ATV’s, Side-by-Sides, Scooters, and Dirt Bikes.
March, 2013We purchased Team Chevrolet Buick GMC from Greg Shockey in Oakland, MD.
September, 2016We opened our 2nd Honda Powerhouse dealership in Winchester, VA.
July, 2017We acquired the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM dealership in Cumberland, MD from Billy Bender.
January 22, 2018We acquired Performance Chevrolet in Elkins, WV from the Darlington Family.
March 16, 2019We acquired the Ford dealership in Oakland from Shaffer Ford.
September 9, 2019We acquired Altoona Honda in Altoona, PA from Bill Barnes.
